Getting To Fitzroy Island
Fitroy Island itself is accessable only by sea, the nearest ferries are located in Cairns.
Cairns is located approximately 400km north of Townsville, and about 1700km from Brisbane.
The Bruce highway traverses the east coast and is recommended for road travel for all the major centres in Queensland.
Cairns has an international airport and all major airlines have daily flights from most destination across Australia, please check airline websites for flights.

Reef Fleet terminal, Cairns: operates ferry transfers to Fitzroy Island at 8.30am and 12.30pm (and 10.30am during the high season), returning at 3pm and 5pm, as well as a half-day trip that departs Cairns at 10.30am and returns at 3pm or 5pm, and a full-day trip that departs Cairns at 8.30am, returning at 5pm. Transfers from Cairns’ northern beaches can be arranged for the latter for an additional fee.
