NQ Fury Supporters Petiton

www.visit-queensland.com.au is happy to assist the supporters of the North Queensland Fury in their efforts to pursuade the Townsville City Council to go ahead with financial support for the embattled Football club.

There is soon to be a proposal put forward to the TCC for financial assistance to the A-League franchise.

The purpose of this web page is to form a pettition that can be handed to TCC in support of this proposal. Some Townsville residents have submitted negative comments about the cost of such financial support to both councillors and the local newspaper.

NQFC supporters are urged to lend their supoprt in favour of the council's financial assistance by adding feedback comments to the bottom of this article. The list of feedback will then be delivered to council for inclusion in their deliberations about the proposal.

Supporters can add their own comments to the link below or can copy and paste the text below, the important thing is to only submit feedback ONCE using a legitimate email address, the system will ignore comments that are submitted more than once by the same email address.

Townsville ratepayers are encouraged to include this fact in the feedback comments.

This has been done for the Cowboys and Crocs in their hour of need. Townsville will clearly continue to benefit from our own team in the A League and one day the Asian Champions League. Comment: As a Football and Fury Supporter I am totally in Favour of the councils support.They have supported other Townsville/NQ Teams with financial help, why should this be any different.Football and Rugby league generally play in different seasons and the Fury's supporters spend money in the community as well as being televised around the world that Townsville is a place to holiday.They had a pretty successful year, much better than the cowboys did in their first year.There is a community spirit as well as a love of football at each game and I believe that will only grow from strength to strength.

Also as a teacher of primary school children, I have seen the joy and excitement the Fury has brought to the younger fans - some of whom didn't even play the support but loved the excitement and atmosphere at games. As a ex-financial person, I know that you sometimes have to spend money for long term gain - from worldwide exposure and travelling fans and hopefully a future world cup.

Comment: Robbie Fowler was interviewed on BBC rado 5 live yesterday morning our time on one of their nightly football discussion shows... Amongst other things they were asking him about hs experience at NQ Furry and he was quite complimentary about his time there,he reckoned that the A league was pretty good and he enjoyed living in Townsville.They asked him if he was going back next year and he told them he was waiting to see if the club survived its ongoing financial problems.He said from what he'd been told things were just about sorted for next season!! GO LIVERPOOL!
